CMCC#43 – Friendship Has Its Perks

Cards, Challenges

I finally finished my nephew’s 1st birthday party invitations yesterday. To get back into a more creative crafty spirit, I hopped over to the Colour Me…! Challenge Blog to play along with this week’s challenge. This week, the CMCC#43 is to create a project using two shades of purple, a pale pink, and black

I haven’t really used my SSS October Card kit yet, so I started with that for inspiration for my design. Here is my card:

Because there were so many challenge colours to include in the card, I wanted to incorporate them subtly. Using my Silhouette Portrait, I cut three frame layers in white, aubergine, and violet.

Before assembling the frames to create a mat, I stamped the Friendship has its Perks sentiment (from the kit) in Versa Fine, Onyx Black ink onto the white frame. Using my tape runner, I adhered the frames together and then used ¼” red double sided tape to adhere the clear acetate panel.

Using a piece of white cardstock cut to 4¼ x 5½”, I positioned the wood veneers (also from the kit) and adhered them down with glue dots. Next I sprinkled on some pearly pink sequins and lay down my frame panel (with two layers of foam tape) over top to create a shaker.

To finish the card, I used my tape runner to adhere the shaker panel to a craft cardbase.

Thank you so much for dropping by! Last week I promised you a Star Trek Christmas card. That post is live now, you can check it out here. Have a great week!

  1. This is adorable! I love how you used all the colours – especially the layered frame with the two purples. Great card, thanks for sharing with us at Colour Me…! this week 🙂
