Simon Says Stamp | Favorite Flowers Thanks

Cards, Thank You Cards

Hi everyone! I’m getting back into my crafty groove and managed to film my first tutorial with my new (temporary) setup.

I started easy with a quick and simple thank you card using stamps from Simon Says Stamp. You can watch the how-to video below, or over on my YouTube channel.

Welcome 2016! Zed Squared Crafts Update

Cards

Hi Everyone!

I’ve been a bit MIA on the Zed Squared blog recently so today I thought I’d pop in to do an update post.

Before I begin my update, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and very happy new year. I myself am truly looking forward to 2016. I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for me.

Like I mentioned, I’ve been missing in action for a few weeks now. Right before Christmas, I moved. My partner, Luc, and I bought our first ever house (yay!) in November. We don’t close until March, so in the meantime, we’re living with family. Since we moved right before Christmas, I didn’t have a chance to get my temporary craft area set up until earlier this week. Like I said, the space is temporary. I brought along my “essential” crafting goodies, and the rest are in storage.

I’ve set up my most used items on a table, and I’m keeping my other essential items in a storage bin right next to the table.

When we move to the new house, I’ll be setting up my permanent crafty space. I hope to take my readers and viewers along for the ride as I sort out organization systems and storage solutions that work for me. Stay tuned for that in April.

Youtube: I’ve closed on a full year of making crafty tutorial YouTube videos. Making these videos has been one of the most fulfilling and enjoyable things I’ve ever done so I will of course continue to make them. My current setup is slightly different during this transition, but I think it still works. I’ll have videos going up at least twice a week once I’m back into the swing of things.

Thank you so much to all my subscribers and readers. Your continued support and encouragement means more than I can express.

Design Teams: You may, or may not, have noticed that I’m not working on any design teams. My life has been in a stage of flux for the past few months, and I decided that I wanted to reclaim my crafty time. Working for design teams has been amazing, but along with them come commitments to produce projects and meet deadlines. As such, I decided that I wanted to craft on my own schedule and at my own pace. This is something that will work best for me at the present time, but I hope that in the future I’ll design for some new teams.

That’s it for now. Thanks again for all your continued support. Cheers to a fabulous 2016.

With love,

julia

Card Kits for Kids | Gift Idea

Any occasion, Cards

Hi Everyone! This year for Christmas, I put together card kits for my two neices who are seven and nine years old. I thought I’d share what I included in the kits in case it inspires you to share your card making hobby with the kids in your life.

You can watch the video below, or over on my YouTube channel.

Most of the supplies are from Michael’s as well as a local craft store. If you have any questions about what I included in the kit, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

Until next time,

Farewell to TAWS | Winter Snowflake Card

Any occasion, Cards, The Alley Way Stamps

Welcome! Today is a sad post because it’s my last ever for the Alley Way Stamps. In case you didn’t know, TAWS is going to close their doors in the new year. The good news for you is that their stamps are on sale for a great discount in case you’ve been eyeing any sets.

For today’s card, I wanted to create a simple and elegant winter card. As always there is a how-to video to share. You can watch the video below, or over on my YouTube channel.

Contributing to the Alley Way Stamps design team has been an outstanding experience. I have been continually inspired by the incredibly talented designers that I have been given a chance to work alongside and I am so grateful for the opportunity.

That’s it for me today. I’m going to take a few weeks off for a move and to spend time with my family over the holidays, but I will be back in the new year with plenty of new cards and videos to share. Merry Christmas everyone!

CAS Lawn Fawn Holiday Card Set

Cards, Christmas Card

Hi everyone! Today I’m going to share a set of clean and simple holiday cards using supplies from Lawn Fawn. As I’ve mentioned recently, this holiday season has been a very busy one for me, so I’ve been short on time. I still wanted to create and send some handmade love to friends and family, so I came up with these CAS, but adorable cards.

I have a how-to video to share. You can watch the video below, or over on my YouTube channel.

These cards were simple to make, but have enough detail and sparkle that I think they are special enough to share. I think next year I may recreate these designs to give away as little sets.
