To the Happy Couple | Neutral Wedding Card

Cards, Love note, Masculine Card

Hi Friends! Great news–this week my YouTube channel reached 1000(!) subscribers. I still can’t believe it myself! I am so encouraged by everyone’s support and kind words. Thank you so much to all my readers and viewers.

In case you missed my birthday haul video a couple weeks ago, I mentioned that my life is very busy at the moment, so hopefully you can forgive me for fewer posts and videos. Once everything is back to normal, I hope to get back into a more regular posting routine.

In the meantime, today I have a neutral wedding card to share with you. I used supplied from Simon Says Stamp and Lawn Fawn to create this card. You can watch the how-to video below, or over on my YouTube channel.

Simon Says Stamp | You are Pawesome Valentine

Cards, Love note

Hi everyone. I hope you’re having a fabulous weekend! Thanks so much for dropping by today.

I’m sharing a whimsical valentine’s day card using stamps from Simon Says Stamp. As always, there is a how to video so you can follow along. You can watch the video below, or over on my YouTube channel.

I wanted to create a special love note that didn’t necessarily require a new stamp set. I love using my stamps all through the year, so this was a perfect excuse to pull out the adorable You are Pawesome stamp set.

Lawn Fawn | Non-Traditional Valentine’s Card

Cards, Love note, Masculine Card

Happy Thursday! I hope your week is coming to a beautiful close. Where I live we’ve been getting snow all week. It’s a true winter wonderland and I love it!

For today’s card, love is in the air. I used stamps from Lawn Fawn and a blue colour scheme to create a non-traditional valentine’s day card. I think this one would be great for any guys in your life.

You can watch the how-to video below, or over on my YouTube channel.

I thought the blue went perfectly with the stamp set. I even incorporated some sparkly paper for some extra razzle dazzle. I tend to steer away from anything sparkly when I make more masculine cards, but I think you can get away with a little extra pizzazz on valentine’s day cards.

Draw Your Own Accessories

Any occasion, Cards, Love note

Welcome! It’s Wednesday, so that means it’s time for another Colour Me! challenge post. The challenge this week is to create a project using grey, yellow, and fuchsia.

CMCC85

I’m not sure if I’ve ever mentioned this before, but grey is my favourite colour so naturally I was pretty excited for this challenge. As usual, I have a video tutorial to share. You can watch it below, or on my YouTube channel.

When I started out with my card, I had a vague idea of where I wanted to go. The most solid idea was to use the Waves Background stamp and Distress Ink to create a bold background. I also knew that I wanted to use the large elephant from the Critters in the Jungle stamp set as my grey element.

Once the card was close to being assembled, I realized that it really needed something else. I decided the something else was a tiny and silly hat for my elephant. So, I did something I’ve never done before, I drew my own accessory.

CMCC85-ZedSquared

I started in pencil, and once I was happy with the shape, I used a thin marker to trace the outline and coloured it in with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I fussy cut it out, and then used a glue dot to adhere it to my elephant friend. I think this simple detail is what really brings this card to life.

Here’s the thing though, I am not very artistically inclined, so this was a BIG leap for me. I feel like my whole world has opened up now since I feel more confident to add my own simple elements to my projects. If you’re not sure about where to start, I recommend Googling some images to get you started and just experiment. I know there are accessory stamp sets available, but if you’re like me and have a limited stash, I think drawing your own really opens up options and helps you get more out of your supplies.

There is tons more inspiration over at the Colour Me! challenge. Make sure to check out the other designers–
