The Alley Way Stamps | Oh Sweet

Any occasion, Cards

Welcome! I’m back on the Alley Way Stamps YouTube channel today sharing a sweet card I created using two mini stamp sets: Bugging Out, and Baby on Board. Of course, I’ve shared a YouTube tutorial to show you how I created this card. You can watch it below, or on YouTube.

I’ve had this card idea buzzing around in my head for a few months so I’m glad I finally sat down to get messy and create it!

I started by stamping my little honey pots in black ink onto a 4¼ x 5½” piece of watercolour paper, and then sprinkling on some clear embossing powder and zapping it with my heat tool.

The next step was the most fun (and messy!) part. I turned my honey pot stamp backwards on my acrylic block so that I could use the flat backside to smoosh on some Distress Ink. I used a variety of pink and purple colours in a completely random pattern. I really liked using the back of the stamp because it meant that the smooshed ink was in relatively the same shape as the honey pot.

The Alley Way Stamps – Lightning Bug Shaker Card

Cards, Shaker Card, The Alley Way Stamps

Welcome! Today is a very exciting day here on the z² blog because it’s my first official post for the Alley Way Stamps. In case you missed the announcement a few weeks ago, I’ve joined the Alley Way Stamps YouTube Design team.

Earlier this week it was Canada Day and since today is the 4th of July, I thought a fun lightning bug shaker would be a fun celebration card for this time of year. For my card, I used the Bugging Out mini stamp set and coordinating electronic cut files. You can watch the video tutorial I created on YouTube by clicking here, or below–

This card has everything (except the kitchen sink!) on it. Because the shaker was such a large and sparkly focal point, I felt like the rest of the card needed a little balance.

This card has plenty of razzle dazzle and is the perfect for any celebration at this time of year.

That’s it for me today. Make sure to visit the Alley Way Stamps Blog to see what the other girls are creating.
