Until next time,
Hi there! Today I’m sharing a card I created for the Colour Me! challenge. This week the challenge is to create a project using purple, green and turquoise.
Before I jump in to my card, last week I mentioned that I was going to have a BIG announcement about the challenge. I was bursting to share the news that was announced last week: I will be staying on as a permanent member of the Colour Me design team!! Eeek!!! My role will be as the Colour Coordinator so I will pick out the challenge colours for each week. Also announced last week was the 4th Design Team. You can catch up on all the news here. Thank you so much to everyone for their kind words and encouragement. It just means the world to me when someone takes the time to comment on the blog and videos.
Ok, so moving on. I created a fairly simple (to create) card. As usual, there is a video tutorial showing how I made it.
I incorporated the challenge colours using a simple emboss resist technique. I stamped my floral swirls and then embossed them in a jazzy gold. To bring in the colours, I used Distress Ink and water as a watercolour resist.
That’s it for today. I’ll be back again tomorrow with another BIG announcement. In the meantime, make sure to visit the other Colour Me designers for some outstanding inspiration–
Until next time,
Welcome! It’s time for another TGIF video. Today I create a card using stamps from Simon Says Stamp. For a blast from the past, I also use my manual label maker.
Hope you had a great week! Until next time,
Welcome! If winter has been getting you down, you are in for a treat over at the Colour Me…! challenge this week. The challenge is to create a project using turquoise, fuchsia, melon, and yellow–pretty retro, eh?!
For my project, I created a groovy flower power card. I used my Silhouette Portrait to cut the flowers then coloured them, as well the background, using Distress Ink. I used the Distress Ink two different ways–as watercolour, and blended onto the background. Make sure to check out the vid to see how easy it is to create your own flower embellishments.
I hope I got your creative mojo flowing and that you’ll join us over at the Colour Me…! challenge. Make sure to check out the other design team blogs for some groovy inspiration–

Hope to see you back here soon!
Welcome to another week at Colour Me…! I was blown away with the talent of the submissions for last week’s challenge and can’t wait to see what you come up with for this one! This week’s combo gave me nautical vibes so I just ran with it. The challenge is to create a card using only red and blue.
My card this week comes complete with it’s own video–
I created an 4Bar card (4 7/8 x 3 1/2″) with a simple striped watercolor background.
I cut out the anchor shape using my Silhouette Portait cutting machine and dry embossed it with a dot embossing folder. I wanted to add some extra dimension and detail so I used a blue marker to colour some pearls the right blue before adhering them onto my card.
Make sure to check out the rest of the design team. They are chock-full of inspiration.
& January guest designer, Tenia Nelson
