Two Birthday Cards using Lawn Fawn

Birthday Cards, Cards

Hi everyone. I hope you’re having a great start to your week! Today I’m sharing a DOUBLE FEATURE. One video–two cards!

I had two birthdays coming up for two very special kids in my life so of course I needed some special cards to celebrate the occasions. I let my camera roll as I created the cards so I have a how-to video to share with you. You can watch the video below, or over on my YouTube channel.

These cards were just a pleasure to create. I didn’t follow any reference photos when colouring and just let the Distress Ink do its magic. That’s one of the things I love about creating for kids–just letting the creativity flow.

Anyways, that’s it for me today. Thanks so much for dropping by!

Until next time,

Birthday Monsters for Danny

Birthday Cards, Cards

My heart was touched by an article I read online about a five year old boy, Danny, in Massachusetts who has been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. Danny’s hometown community is rallying around him to bring him happiness from around the world on his upcoming 6th birthday by asking people to mail him birthday cards.

Of course, I had to send a card.

To be honest, I don’t have a lot of practice making cards for kids, especially for boys. All I knew is that I wanted to make something that might make Danny smile when he saw it.

Goofy monster birthday card

I cut out the monsters with my Silhouette and then adhered a variety of details to each one. What I think makes this card silly is all the googly eyes. The monsters are adhered to my card base with foam tape. I tied some bakers twine to the balloons (also cut with my Silhouette) and finished them off with Glossy Accents.
