Two Birthday Cards using Lawn Fawn

Birthday Cards, Cards

Hi everyone. I hope you’re having a great start to your week! Today I’m sharing a DOUBLE FEATURE. One video–two cards!

I had two birthdays coming up for two very special kids in my life so of course I needed some special cards to celebrate the occasions. I let my camera roll as I created the cards so I have a how-to video to share with you. You can watch the video below, or over on my YouTube channel.

These cards were just a pleasure to create. I didn’t follow any reference photos when colouring and just let the Distress Ink do its magic. That’s one of the things I love about creating for kids–just letting the creativity flow.

Anyways, that’s it for me today. Thanks so much for dropping by!

Adoption Card with Lawn Fawn

Cards

Hi Crafty friends! Just a short post for today. I’m sharing a card that I created for a family who adopted a five year boy. The card is larger than normal (5×7) because it was passed around to several people to sign and celebrate.

I filmed as I created so I have a how-to video to share. You can watch the video below, or over on my YouTube channel.

Double Layer Shaker Card

Birthday Cards, Cards

Hi everyone! Today I have a card to share that I created almost two months ago and am finally getting the chance to post.

I absolutely adore making shaker cards, for a variety of reasons, but I wanted to up the ante and create something that I’ve never seen before: a double layer shaker card.

There is of course a how-to video so you can follow along as I create the card. You can watch the video below, or over on my YouTube channel.

Creating the shaker portion was just as easy as it always is (layer foam tape over acetate), but this time I created two separate chambers for my shaker material. The top layer is a whole bunch of fun party confetti, and the bottom layer is my favorite sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. The effect of the two separate shaker section is really neat in real life and I’m so pleased with how this card turned out.

If you like this card, you may also like the floating shaker card that I created a couple months ago. You can see it over on my YouTube channel in case you missed it.

Lawn Fawn | Stuck on You

Any occasion, Cards

Howdy! It’s already time for another Colour Me! challenge post. This week the challenge is to create a project using the colour pumpkin.

CMCC92

I made a simple card using stamps from Lawn Fawn and Distress ink. I let my camera roll as I created my project. You can watch the tutorial below, or on my YouTube channel.

I love how the cactus stamps create the perfect silhouette against the orange background.

Colouring Lawn Fawn using Spectrum Noir Markers

Birthday Cards, Cards

Hello my crafty friends. Welcome to another Colour Me! post. This week the challenge is to create a project using four colours: turquoise, salmon, green, and mustard.

CMCC90

For my project, I recreated a card that I made for my Dad’s birthday last week. I wanted to showcase a unique way to use your Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to create an almost watercoloured look. As usual, I let me camera roll as I created the card so you can watch the how-to video below, or on my YouTube channel.

I mentioned in a blog post last week that I have been obsessed with using stitched oval frames on my cards recently. For me, they are just a classic window into a story. I create my frames using my Silhouette portrait machine. If you don’t know how to add the stitched detail in Silhouette Studio, I have a YouTube tutorial that you can watch here to learn how.
