Winter Shaker Scene

Cards, Christmas Card

Hi Everyone! Today I’m sharing a winter shaker scene card using stamps from Penny Black.

Of course I have a how-to video to share with you. As well, by popular demand, I’m also going to share a short video showing you how I set up my Silhouette studio file to cut the front panel and frame on my Silhouette Portrait. You can watch both videos below, or over on my YouTube channel.

My Silhouette video is very quick so if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask in the comments or by sending me an e-mail.

Double Layer Shaker Card

Birthday Cards, Cards

Hi everyone! Today I have a card to share that I created almost two months ago and am finally getting the chance to post.

I absolutely adore making shaker cards, for a variety of reasons, but I wanted to up the ante and create something that I’ve never seen before: a double layer shaker card.

There is of course a how-to video so you can follow along as I create the card. You can watch the video below, or over on my YouTube channel.

Creating the shaker portion was just as easy as it always is (layer foam tape over acetate), but this time I created two separate chambers for my shaker material. The top layer is a whole bunch of fun party confetti, and the bottom layer is my favorite sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. The effect of the two separate shaker section is really neat in real life and I’m so pleased with how this card turned out.

If you like this card, you may also like the floating shaker card that I created a couple months ago. You can see it over on my YouTube channel in case you missed it.

Mirror Mirror | Princess Card

Any occasion, Cards

Hi Crafty Friends! I hope you’re having a magical day that has put you in the mood for an enchanted card. For today’s Colour Me! challenge post, I’m playing along with Team Hayley so my challenge was to create a project using mint, pink, and greige.

CMCC91

The challenge colours this week reminded me of an enchanted princess so I just ran with that idea. As usual, I let my camera roll while I was creating so I have a how-to tutorial to share with you. You can watch the video below, or on my YouTube channel.

Like I mentioned, the colours this week really reminded me of an enchanted princess fairytale. No princess fairytale is complete without some sparkle and shine, so I used silver glitter paper, as well as Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins to pull the whole card together.

To be honest, once I finished the card, I thought I maybe went a little overboard with the princess theme, but I let it sit for a couple days and decided that while princesses maybe aren’t my thing, someone out in the craft-verse would enjoy it…right?!

Of course there is plenty more inspiration this week from the other designers–

Happy Birthday Shaker Card

Birthday Cards, Cards

Welcome! This is my second post of my DOUBLE FEATURE today. If you’re here for the Colour Me! challenge, keep scrolling down.

I’m back on the Alley Way Stamps YouTube channel today sharing a shaker card I created by combining two of the mini stamp sets: Moosing You, and Wreathed in Love. You can watch my tutorial below, or on Youtube.

I created my card for a family member who loves owls. She has impeccable taste so I think that using vellum for the shaker window, instead of clear transparency, adds a little bit of elegance to the shaker part of the card.

As always, there is plenty more TAWS inspiration over at their blog.

You Rock! Shaker Card

Any occasion, Cards

Hey guys! It’s time for another Colour Me challenge. The challenge this week is to create a project using blue and turquoise.

CMCC79I used my Silhouette Portrait machine to create an easy shaker card. You can watch how I made it on YouTube, or below–

This card was a cinch to create with my Silhouette Portrait machine. I designed the card front using a diamond shape I got a few weeks ago from the weekly Free Shape of the Week giveaway in Silhouette Studio. I also included a stitched border detail on my front panel. I have a quick video here showing how you can easily add the stitched border to any shape using Silhouette Studio.
